<description>Everybody is talking about GLP-1 right now because of drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy. They work for a lot of people, but they can come with side effects, especially stomach trouble. Chlorogenic acid is a compound you already get from plants. Green coffee beans have the most of it, and the yerba mate plant has plenty too. A recent study found it can raise GLP-1 levels naturally. Dr. Ben Bikman, who runs a metabolism lab at Brigham Young University, shared early results on a podcast. In his experiment with a yerba mate drink, GLP-1 levels went up about 70% in the fasted state. That's still early work, but it's a big number. Have you tried yerba mate? Let me know what you noticed. Let's get healthy together. Science, not medical advice.
