When you want to use Caddy from a distribution's repo, it can't really be Ubuntu because it's old and crusty, but simplicity is the name of the game. Containerization is an option, but it brings its own set of security implications that might be too much for a lazy Leo. We talk through a few options, but want to hear from you! Fedora? Arch? Alpine? Containers? Bootc? Repos? Compiling? What do you recommend? 🤝Support us on Patreon🤝 https://patreon.com/linuxuserspace Leo's CaddyCaddy Web Server https://caddyserver.com/ There are several install options https://caddyserver.com/docs/install Caddy is written in Go so just swapping the binary is possible. https://go.dev/ Should Leo use Arch, Ubuntu Server, Fedora Server, or something else? ⭐⭐⭐⭐Producers ❤️John Andersen, Bruno Parisi, Dave Jones, Visaggio & Co. ⭐⭐⭐Co-Producers ❤️CubicleNate, --verbose, wvrm ⭐⭐Super Users ❤️Nicholas Omann, sleepyeyesvince, EwokEmpire, Eduardo Sanchez, Advait, Blackshift6090, jeff3ix, Amanita, Matt Miller, TeXaCo, Matthew, Silicon Siren ⭐Users ❤️Jill Bryant & Steve Ryniker, Eduardo PH, Kyle, November Krinnan, James Taylor, Quidam, Sander Kamps

I'd use the PPA to get the new version.

arch as server works. breaking changes are veeeery rare. just update weekly and reboot, but don't do it in a rush. just in case^^
