Most people quit their GLP-1 medications in the first year. A JAMA Network Open study followed about 125,000 adults on a GLP-1 shot. Within a year, more than half had stopped. For people without diabetes, it was almost two out of three. I'm not a fan of those medications, but that isn't what this video is about. If you've looked at the risks (blindness, gastroparesis, thyroid cancer and more) and you're still good with them, that's between you and your doctor. Here's the thing. GLP-1 isn't something a drug company invented. Your gut already makes it. It's one of the hormones that tells your brain you're full. A 2025 study compared a 30-gram protein meal, like eggs and salmon, to a carb meal like most people eat on the standard American diet. The protein meal raised GLP-1 and another fullness hormone more. Small study, simple point: what's on your plate talks to your hormones. Let's get healthy together. Science, not medical advice.
